Nevada League of Cities hosts lunch at Depot

A lunch get-together was held on an outside porch of the Depot June 28 to visit with Wes Harper, executive director of the Nevada League of Cities.  Harper, who has been director since March 2020, is the first of the organization’s leadership to visit Caliente.

The Nevada League of Cities is an organization that helps cities in Nevada achieve mutual benefits and political influence at both the state and federal levels, developing best practices that can be shared among the cities. Harper summed it up saying, “It’s really just a way for combining resources towards the betterment of all cities.”

Mayor Steve Rowe and Jaelyn Rowe were present at the luncheon, as were city clerk Amanda Anderson, public works manager Grant Perkins, building inspector Ken Dixon and city crewmen James Ebert and Chris Mangum. 

A League of Cities conference will be held in Sparks, Nevada, August 25-27.
