Lincoln County and Pahranagat Valley High Schools’ winter sports teams represented their communities well as the wrestling teams finished their seasons at the state championships and all four basketball teams competed in their regional tournaments. Two Pahranagat wrestlers, Ramzi Hughes and Jake Griffin, came home as state champions, and several wrestlers from both schools also made the podium. Lincoln County High’s girls basketball team defeated Calvary Chapel in Las Vegas for the 2A Southern Regional Championship. In Tonopah, Pahranagat Valley’s girls won the 1A Central with a convincing victory over Round Mountain, and the boys came away with a thrilling one-point win over Mineral County to take home the first place trophy.
