Lincoln County is a close-knit community. Sunday, Aug. 28 was a reminder of that as the VFW Post 7114 held a fundraiser to help with funeral expenses for Jerry “Smitty” Smith.   The fundraising goal was exceeded, and anything over the cost of burial will go to the Conaway Veterans Cemetery fund for upkeep.
