The 119th Annual Labor Day festivities in Pioche commenced with a lively Labor Day bingo event held at the Fire Hall on Friday, Aug. 30. The event began at 6 p.m. and drew a crowd of more than 100 enthusiastic participants. Throughout the evening, groups small and large filtered in while engaging in various bingo rounds including regular, across, picture frames and a final blackout game. Winners received a range of prizes, from DVD sets and yard umbrellas to cash and gifts from local businesses. Special rounds awarded Labor Day-themed quilts.

Proceeds from the event continue to benefit the annual Labor Day fireworks display. Monthly bingo games leading up to Labor Day weekend have been popular. The next round of bingo games is scheduled for Oct. 11 at the Pioche Town Hall.
