Pahranagat Valley National Wildlife Refuge announced earlier this week via a Facebook update that the visitor center will be experiencing hour changes after severe staffing shortages. The visitor center will remain closed after Sept. 20 until adequate staffing becomes available. Once staffing is available, the visitor center will resume regularly scheduled hours with an expected closing time of 4 p.m. All other facilities will remain open during the hour change, and visitors are welcome to explore as usual, with the exception of the visitor center.
There is not an expected date in which regular hours will be resumed. Until then, follow Pahranagat and Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuges’ Facebook page for updates at https://www.facebook.com/PahrandMoapaValleyNWR.
**Correction: After Sept. 20, Pahranagat NWR Visitor’s Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., then resume regularly scheduled hours with adequate staffing.
