As the runners gathered for the start of the race, the Lincoln County girls team, known for their pre-race prayer tradition, extended an invitation to three other runners from different schools who were competing solo. The girls, recognizing the camaraderie and support that can be found even among rivals, joined the Lincoln County team in prayer.
