The Alamo Town Board met and discussed many topics on Dec. 11.
The town maintenance crew reported the park and ball fields are being cleaned up and the gopher problem should be taken care of by spring. Christmas Card Lane’s new banner design has been successful. There is still room for more banners and if people would like to participate, they can contact Tasha Stout at [email protected].
The county commissioner reported the diesel tax passed and is now going to the state for approval. This tax should be active in about six months.
There was talk about redoing the streets in Alamo with asphalt in the spring. Also, the new road signs and traffic signs are moving forward. The town board is hoping to have the project done by the Fourth of July.
Alamo has a white Ford F150 the city may be putting up for auction soon.
There was much discussion about houses being built and a parcel zone change on property located at the corner of Park Boulevard and Madison Avenue. There was concern about water disbursement during
construction and how it will affect other properties and roads. The zone change from agriculture to rural residential was approved, as well as the splitting of the parcel into four parcels.
Rob Vinson of the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge has offered to help the board write grants for future projects.
In January, they will be holding interviews for individuals interested in holding a seat on the town board.
