The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office released its activity report for January 2025, providing an overview of calls for service, arrests and other law enforcement activities throughout the county.
Calls for Service
The sheriff’s office responded to a total of 395 calls for service in January. These calls ranged from 911 hang-ups and abandoned vehicles to more serious incidents such as assaults, domestic disturbances and drug-related offenses. The towns with the highest number of calls were Alamo (92), Caliente (95) and Pioche (101).
Other Activities
In addition to responding to calls for service, the sheriff’s office conducted 172 traffic stops, booked 17 arrests and conducted 4 death investigations in conjunction with the coroner’s office. The Lincoln County Detention Center, which is operated by the sheriff’s office, housed an average of 42 inmates during January, including 23 U.S. Marshal contract inmates.
Financial Information
The report also included financial information related to the detention center. Inmate contract billing for January 2025 totaled $56,606.00, while transport reimbursement amounted to $4,913.20.

- Panaca: 51 calls
- Pioche: 101 calls
- Hiko/Rachel: 24 calls
- Other (Mt. Wilson, Eagle Valley, Ursine, outside jurisdictions, etc.): 32 calls
