Donald Oral Taylor passed away in his home surrounded by his family on February 23,2025 in Caliente Nevada at the age of 90. Don was born on December 29,1934 in Preston, Idaho to John Oral Taylor and Frances Lauretta Bosworth. Don was 5 when he and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Don later attended Las Vegas High School. After graduating he attended trade school for plumbing. On August 10, 1956 he married the love of his life Arlone Thalmann in the Salt Lake City Temple and had been by each other’s side for over 68 years.

Don was in the plumbers Union Local 525 and worked for Nay Mechanical for 37 years. He loved sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He played baseball, softball, bowling and golf. After raising their family and retirement Don and Arlone left many family and friends and moved to Caliente NV. But they now have family and many friends here. Don was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had many church callings throughout his life.

Don is survived by his wife Arlone of Caliente, NV; sons David Taylor (Mary Lou) Las Vegas, NV; Craig Taylor (Karen) Las Vegas, NV; John Taylor (Lonnie) Herriman, UT; siblings Carma Hartman (Bob) Las Vegas, NV; Steve Taylor (Tina) Caliente, NV; also 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and also his daughter Dona Linn Sturgiss (Robert).

The family would like to thank the Relief Society in Caliente, all the doctors, the hospice care and all friends, family and neighbors who assisted in his care in his final months.

Funeral services will be held Monday March 3, 2025 1:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1100 Front Street Caliente, NV. A viewing to be held prior at 11:30am. Interment will be held on Tuesday March 4, 2025 at Palms Mortuary 6701 N Jones Blvd in Las Vegas, NV at 1:00pm under the direction of Southern Nevada Mortuary.
