CARSON CITY – The Nevada Association of School Superintendents (NASS) has named Pam Teel, Superintendent of the Lincoln County School District (LCSD), as the 2025 Nevada Superintendent of the Year. NASS, Nevada’s leading education organization, represents all 18 public school districts as well as the State Public Charter School Authority.
“Pam Teel is compassionate yet tough, caring yet firm, reflective yet visionary, and inclusive yet ready to leave behind those who are not ready to move. She helps all of us around her be better,” said Adam Young, 2025 NASS President.
Each year, NASS honors a superintendent who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication to students, educators and the broader community. Recipients of this award are recognized for their leadership for learning, communication, professionalism and community involvement.
Teel has served as LCSD’s superintendent since 2016, following an extensive career as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent since joining the district in 1995. She also served as NASS President for the 2023-2024 school year and was recognized as the 2024 Nevada Department of Education Extraordinary Leader – Driver of Change.
Teel will be honored at the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) National Education Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, on March 6, 2025. She will join other state honorees for professional networking and leadership development at the conference. The AASA National Superintendent of the Year program, now in its 37th year, celebrates outstanding educational leaders from across the country.
