The Alamo Town Board held their monthly meeting Feb. 12.
First up for discussion was the town’s old Ford F150. It was decided the truck will be put up for bid and more information will be given soon.
The block wall project at the splash pad is ongoing and looking good.
The sheriff’s office reported they are pushing hard on drug investigations county-wide. They are also working on pulling together a motorized scooter safety assembly for the youth of the county.
County commissioner Lisa Poulsen reported they are moving forward with the new street signs in the valley. Alamo’s Rural Transportation Commission funds have been approved for the quarter. The diesel tax should be approved soon by taxation. There was much talk about chipping and sealing streets and creating a walking path up Broadway for pedestrian traffic.
Commissioners are also working on a waste permit with Western Elite so the trash trucks do not have to take the garbage all the way to Crestline. This would help save money.
Vern Holaday was chosen to stay on as chairman, and Shasta Laird was chosen as vice chairman.
