Teresa Chavez, 76, of Panaca, NV, passed away March 4, 2025 from a motor vehicle accident. She was born March 27, 1948 in Boise, ID to Wayne and Rhea McKay.

Teresa’s passion revolved around her family as a home-maker, doing crafts, sewing, playing piano, teaching, and cooking delicious meals. She always cherished their sweet hugs and tender moments.
Her love and patience were manifested by her many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a primary and Cub Scout teacher and leader. She also adored her “other” little children as she taught Kindergarten in Provo, UT, Panaca Elementary, and Pioche Elementary.
Teresa was a beloved wife and mother who will be dearly missed by all those who had the blessing to know her. Teresa, we know you have been welcomed back home with open arms as you have looked forward to meeting your parents again. We love you Mom and look forward to the day of our great reunion of peace and healing that comes from our beloved Savior as you help prepare the way back for us. The family would like to express gratitude toward the amazing outpouring of love and support from the community, friends, and loved ones.
Teresa was a dedicated wife to Daniel Chavez for 53 years. She is survived by her husband Daniel Chavez; her six children: Contessa (John) Dotson, Charmae Chavez, Camila (Derek) Crowther, Devin (Crystal) Chavez, Jared (Melissa) Chavez, and Scott (Heidi) Chavez. Teresa was a beloved grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025.and the services will follow be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Panaca, NV. Interment will be in the Panaca Cemetery under the direction of Southern Nevada Mortuary.
