Sheriff’s office responds to 428 calls in March

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office released its activity report for March 2025, detailing calls for service, arrests, and detention center statistics.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 428 calls for service across Lincoln County in March 2025. Calls by location were as follows:   

Alamo (106)    

Pioche (103)    

Caliente (96)    

Panaca (49)    

Hiko/Rachel (43)    

Other (Mt Wilson, Eagle Valley, Ursine, outside jurisdictions, etc.) (31)    

The most frequent types of calls for service were:

911 hang up (48)    

Office report (32)    

Medical (26)    

Citizen assist (25)    

Animal problem (21)

Property checks (21)

Suspicious person (21)    

Traffic hazard (19)    

Motorist assist (18)    

Agency assist and court assignment (16)    

School detail (15)    

Welfare checks (14)    

VIN inspection (13)    

Juvenile problem (11) 

Traffic accident (11) 

Paper service (10)    

Other calls for service included assault (2), burglary (1), child abuse/neglect (1), business/property checks (6), dog attack (2), domestic disturbance (3), drugs (2), DUI (1), fingerprints (2), fire (6), fireworks (1), fish & game (1), officer investigation (4), found property (3), harassment (3), keep the peace (3), lost property (1), missing person (1), property damage (4), public relations (4), rural patrol (5), search warrant (1), sex offender registration (2), sex offense (1), special assignment (5), theft (2), threatening (3), training exercise (4), trespassing (4), utility problem (1), wanted person (1) and weapon offense (1).   

The Sheriff’s Office/Coroner’s Office conducted 3 death investigations.   

Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted 202 traffic stops.   

The Lincoln County Detention Center booked in 20 arrests (not including U.S. Marshal Contract inmates).   

The 20 arrests were for the following offenses: Attempt Grand Larceny of Motor Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence (2), Domestic Battery, Serving Time (3), Parole & Probation Violation, Fish & Game Violation, Battery, and Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (2).   

The Lincoln County Detention Center’s inmate population was 29, consisting of 15 U.S. Marshal Contract inmates and 14 county inmates.   

Inmate contract billing for February 2025 was $46,480.00, and transport reimbursement for February 2025 was $6,294.40.
