PVHS track team caps ‘amazing season’ with multiple state medals

Pahranagat Valley High School athletes returned from the state track finals, held in Logandale, May 16 and 17, with a significant collection of medals. 

“These athletes had an amazing season,” Head track coach Taylor Poulson said. “Every single one of them improved in their events, and I am so proud of all their accomplishments they achieved this year.”

Sera Miller wins first place long jump.

Sera Miller was a standout performer for the Panthers, leaping to a gold medal and a new personal record in the women’s long jump. Miller also earned a bronze medal in the 200-meter dash and secured a fourth-place medal in the 100-meter dash. Adding to the individual honors, Presley Bundy captured a silver medal in the women’s 400-meter race, also achieving a personal best time.

The team’s success continued in the relay events. The women’s 4×200 relay team – comprising Presley Bundy, Shaylin Lytle, Maiden Jones, and Sera Miller – raced to a bronze medal and a team personal record. The women’s 4×400 relay team, featuring Maiden Jones, Ember Moffitt, Sydnee Melton, and Shaylin Lytle, also earned a fourth-place medal while setting a new team personal record. 

On the men’s side, Kaden Hagfeldt contributed to Pahranagat Valley’s strong showing by securing a fourth-place medal in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal record performance.

“It is amazing to watch these athletes week in and week out work hard and achieve their goals,” Poulsen added.
