When school’s out for summer, so are school lunches.
Enter the Lincoln Community Coalition’s summer snack bag program, headed by Crystal Dinley and funded by the Three Square offices out of Las Vegas.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday, the coalition offices in the Panaca town center have bags of food ready to be picked up from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Anyone can show up and grab what they need for as long as supplies last. This program, or something similar, has existed in Lincoln County since 2020. The only major difference this year is that snack bags will only be available in Panaca. According to Dinley, there wasn’t as much interest in other towns, but everyone in the county is welcome to come to the Panaca office.
The snack bags come courtesy of Three Square, whose mission is “To provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community,” according to their website.
