Owner of Sportsman Cycle Trail Ride, Gary Smith, donated $4,000 to Lincoln County football to help buy new equipment.
The second annual Sportsman Cycle Trail Ride took place north of Caliente last year on September 21, 2024. Gary Smith, owner of Sportsman Cycle in Las Vegas, designed a fun dirt bike trail ride that covered approximately 80 miles. The ride included lunch from Gunslingers and a steak dinner for participants and those who donated. Smith designed the trail ride to give 100 percent of the proceeds back to Lincoln County. On May 16, Smith and the Sportsman Cycle Trail Ride presented the Lincoln County High School football team with over $4,000 to help buy new equipment.
“Every dollar of profit we make from our trail ride will go back into the county for letting us host this amazing event,” Smith said. “A huge thank you to everyone who came to support the ride.”
Sportsman Cycle is planning the ride again this year in late September. It is open to all skill levels. When the exact date is set, it will be available in the Lincoln County Record’s calendar online and in print.
