On June 17th and 18th, the Lincoln County Road Department poured asphalt around the Panaca Senior Citizens Center paid for by a sizable contribution made by an anonymous donor. Panaca’s Senior Citizen Center is the only Center in the county that has not had this safety feature. The Center’s Board members would like to express our profound gratitude for this fantastic gesture of kindness. We have been concerned for several years about our Panaca senior citizens who have needed to navigate their wheelchairs and walkers over the gravel and uneven surface, not to mention those who might have stumbled as they walked into the building.
The Lincoln County Road Department did a remarkable job in grading and smoothing out the uneven places. They took the asphalt clear to Atchison Street, which will make it easy to walk and drive on. We appreciate the slope that leads to the culvert for water runoff.
