Float entries are now being accepted for this year’s Pioneer Day Parade, scheduled for Saturday, July 26, in Panaca. The parade will follow the theme “Following In Their Footsteps” and invites participants to honor the legacy, sacrifice and courage of early pioneers.
Lineup begins at 3:15 p.m. on North 5th Street, and the parade will begin shortly after. Float builders, local businesses, clubs, churches, families and community groups are all encouraged to join in.
To enter a float, text (435) 313-4689 with your group name and entry details.
Pioneer Day commemorates the arrival of the first group of Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847, after a long and difficult journey west. For many communities in Nevada and across the West, especially those with pioneer roots, the day serves as a celebration of faith, perseverance and heritage.
In Panaca, a town with its own deep pioneer history, Pioneer Day remains one of the most beloved community traditions. The parade is a highlight of the day’s festivities, often featuring decorated floats, horses, performers and youth groups.
Organizers hope this year’s parade will be full of creativity and community spirit, reflecting both the historic significance of Pioneer Day and the modern pride of Lincoln County residents. Early entry is encouraged to ensure placement in the lineup.
