The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 446 calls for service across the county in June. Alamo led with 110 calls, followed by Pioche (100), Caliente (97), Panaca (53), Hiko/Rachel (42), and other areas (44).
The diverse range of incidents handled by the Sheriff’s Office included: office reports (42), medical (32), citizen assist (28), 911 hang ups (27), property checks (27), motorist assist (26), animal problems (23), court assignments (19), suspicious persons (17), traffic accidents (15), fire calls (15), welfare checks (11), VIN inspections (8), theft (7), paper service (7), trespassing (7), property damage (7), public relations (5), officer investigations (4), wanted persons (4), controlled substances (4), rural patrol (3), search warrants (3), sex offender registrations (3), special assignments (3), fraud (3), business/property checks (3), juvenile problems (3), abandoned vehicles (3), domestic disturbances (2), found property (2), training exercises (2), utility problems (2), and single instances of arson, assault, custodial interference, disorderly conduct, dog attack, harassment, indigent, indecent behavior, loitering, lost property, keep the peace, missing person, OHV incidents, parking problems, search & rescue, auto theft and threatening.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 160 traffic stops and two death investigations. The Lincoln County Detention Center booked 27 individuals in June. The offenses for which arrests were booked included: Jail Housing/Serving Time (7), Arrest Warrant (5), Felony Arrest Warrant (4), Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (4), Possession of a Controlled Substance (3), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (3 – noting some were listed with Possession of a Controlled Substance), and single instances of Arson, Driving with Revoked Driver’s License/Open Container, Domestic Violence/Assault with Deadly Weapon, Violation of a Protection Order, Provoking an Assault/Disturbing the Peace/Pedestrian Under the Influence, Domestic Violence, Driving While Under the Influence and Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription.
The detention center’s inmate population at the end of June was 34, comprising 18 U.S. Marshal Contract inmates and 16 county inmates. Inmate contract billing for June totaled $73,704.00, with an additional $5,803.10 in transport reimbursements.
