
Jackie Leroy Bickel, 76, of Rachel, NV, passed away suddenly June 24, 2025 from complications related to Type 1 Diabetes. He was born in Buckhannon, Upshur County, West Virginia, December 30, 1948, the only son of Clarence Bickel and Jessie Robinson.
Jack served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force in various aircraft mechanic capacities. Following retirement from service, he continued working in aircraft maintenance and development with an independent contractor at the Nevada Test Site. Jack was also a lifelong auto mechanic, and enjoyed restoring, modifying and building cars and trucks, some of which were raced on weekends at tracks in California, Arizona and Nevada.
Jack was an expert marksman who enjoyed hunting, trapping, camping and cowboying.
Jack’s survivors include his wife of 19 years, Christine; sister Caroline; son Judd; grandchildren: Jack, Lucas, Kimberly, and Katelynn. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jean. and Judd’s mother Mary Ellen.
A celebration of his life will be held 11:00 a.m. September 13, 2025 in Rachel, NV at DC Day Park.
