Over the course of last week, the Lincoln County Community Theater troupe put on a dazzling performance of Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” the classic tale of an orphaned girl, a fairy godmother, a ball, a prince and a pair of beautiful – if not uncomfortable – footwear.

Lincoln County Community Theater troupe performed “Cinderella” from July 16-19, 2025.
The story begins with Prince Christopher Rupert Windermere Vladimir Carl Alexander François Reginald Lancelot Herman Gregory James. Or, as his friends call him, Topher, played by Ken Katschke. The prince struggles with his identity and what kind of king he wants to be. He crosses paths with Crazy Marie and the titular heroine, Ella (known as Cinderella by her abusive stepmother), played by Guilia Robbins. The two hit it off, and soon the prince is convinced by his conniving royal advisor Sebastian (played by Adam Markarian) to host a ball where Topher can find himself a wife. The play was filled with hilarious performances from Crazy Marie/the Fairy Godmother played by Karina Katschke, with a particularly hilarious showing from Ava Markarian as Gabriella, the kinder of the two stepsisters.
Millie Anderson nailed her part as the Madam, Ella’s stepmother, and the other sister, Charlotte, was played by Kelsea Markarian. Alongside them, Jackson Free played political rabble-rouser Jean-Michelle. And of course, where would any courtly story be without a herald, Lord Pinkerton, played by Jacob Lester.
Between the actors, crew and all the other people who made this night happen, it really was a community effort. The play ran from July 16-19, and over the course of those four nights, members of the community commented on the quality of the play and how well the players took to their parts. Thanks to the efforts of the play’s director, Natalie Wadsworth, and assistants like Franklin Katschke, the community was given one impossibly fun show.
