On the evening of July 18, community members gathered at the Caliente Train Depot to celebrate Aloha Night with fellowship and island flair. Participants enjoyed a luau hosted by the Caliente Community United Methodist Church and led by Pastor Siliveinusi Latu and his wife, Malia Latu.

Caliente Train Depot hosts Aloha Night on July 18.
From 5 to 7 p.m., laughter, music and friendly conversation filled the air. Colorful leis, bright decorations and appetizing dishes lined the walls of the depot, offered by community members eager to share. The celebration featured dancing, games, prizes and a generous potluck buffet.
The event came shortly after an important milestone for Pastor Latu, who was recently licensed for pastoral ministry in the United Methodist Church and appointed to serve in Caliente. A heartfelt gratitude and message of faith, shared earlier this month, reflected the pastor’s deep commitment to serving the community.

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service,” Pastor Latu shared.
His message encouraged community members to continue supporting one another and to remain grounded in faith.
