Looking for a deal on a vehicle? Well, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office may have the vehicle for you.
The county’s main law enforcement agency has decided to put some of the cars, trucks and vans in surplus on the market.
Starting with the three trucks going up for sale, there is a selection of Ford F-150s. The oldest one is a white four-door with over 275K miles, though its starting bid of $2,000 may be enough incentive for someone to take the plunge on this 2002 pickup. The other two trucks are 2020 four-door models, and aside from being painted black, they have some notable differences. For one, the model with 102,000 miles on it is missing a grill, while the model with 96,000 miles is intact. However, both are reportedly in need of some cam work and have limited damage to the seats, which explains why their bids are starting at $4,000 (higher mileage) and $9,500 (less mileage), respectively.
There is also a selection of SUVs on the docket, including two Ford Expeditions and a Jeep Liberty. The Liberty has just over 93K miles on the V6 engine and a starting bid of $5,500, while the 2007 Explorer has an opening price of $1,200 dollars but an unknown amount of miles under the hood. The newer (2019) explorer is pushing 119K miles with an opening bid of $8,000, but outside of some possible cam work, it’s in great condition.
Finally, if you’re in the market for something that can carry more people, a 2008 Chevy Express van will also be on sale. While the paint is chipped in a few places, it reportedly runs great. It even has a removable cage in the back for when the kids get particularly out of hand. With over 1200K miles on the road, this vehicle’s opening bid is $3,000.
All of the vehicles can be viewed at the Sheriff’s Office in Pioche, where you can take a look at them Monday through Sunday, beginning Sept. 15. Bidding will close on Sept. 19, and all bids must be mailed to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, P.O. Box 570, Pioche, NV, 89043, or they must be hand delivered before the deadline.
