On Oct. 4, in the Caliente Elementary gymnasium, you will find a collection of medical experts and community members promoting healthy lifestyles while offering free and discounted services to everyone. Doors open at 8 a.m. and they’ll be open until noon.
One of the services the fair will provide is a discount on blood work. Without insurance, these kinds of services could sometimes cost upward of $100. So, with a $35 price tag, all one needs to do to take advantage of this discount is show up during the fair and get it done.
There will also be a variety of live sessions talking about different services available through Grover C. Dils. For example, Kari Rodowick (PA-C) will be giving a demonstration focused on Nexplanon, a new type of birth control that comes in the form of an implant that, according to Rodowick, can prevent pregnancies for up to three years.
Physical therapist Dustin Poulsen will be doing a demonstration of dry needling. The main difference between dry needling and acupuncture is that acupuncture is a cultural art that focuses on the transfer of qi, while dry needling is based on modern medicine and major pressure points. If other forms of physical therapy don’t seem to work, this may be the answer you’re looking for.

At the event, the community will receive an update on the construction of a new hospital. You’ll also be able to enter a drawing to receive a variety of prizes, the winners of which will be announced the following Monday.
