After several years of inactivity, the Lincoln County Republican Central Committee (LCRCC) was officially reorganized at a meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, in Hiko. The Nevada Republican Party formally recognized the re-chartered committee following an official request submitted to Chairman Michael McDonald on Aug. 26.
An Executive Committee was elected to lead the newly active LCRCC. Michael Ray will serve as Chairman, with Betsy Whipple as Vice Chairman, Melissa Shortell as Secretary, and Cindy Higbee as Treasurer.
The new leadership’s primary goal is to strengthen and grow the Republican Party’s influence in Lincoln County. Despite the county being predominantly Republican, the committee will focus on becoming more organized and unified to ensure that local voters are heard.
Chairman Michael Ray stated, “Having an active, organized Republican Party in Lincoln County is vital. We are committed to giving Republican ideals a strong voice and structure here in our community.”
The LCRCC will now work to build a more robust, active local party, reinforcing its presence and influence at all levels of government.
The Lincoln County Republican Central Committee is the official governing body of the Republican Party within Lincoln County. Its mission is to promote Republican principles and support Republican candidates at the local, state and national levels.
