The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 473 calls for service across the county and conducted 208 traffic stops, according to its recently released monthly activity report. The Pioche area saw the most activity with 145 calls, followed by Caliente with 106 and Alamo with 102. Other areas included Panaca with 53 calls, the Hiko/Rachel area with 42, and 25 calls in other outlying regions.

The Lincoln County Detention Center booked 21 local arrests in August for a range of offenses.

Detention Center
As of the end of August, the Lincoln County Detention Center housed a total of 42 inmates. This population included 10 local/county inmates, 20 contract inmates from the U.S. Marshals Service, and 12 contract inmates from the North Las Vegas Police Department.
The contracts to house inmates for outside agencies generated significant revenue for the county. The U.S. Marshals contract billed $72,957.00 for the month, with an additional $3,147.20 reimbursed for inmate transport. The contract with the North Las Vegas Police Department billed $44,880.00.
