Hurry, hurry, hurry! Step right up and come enjoy the first circus to visit Lincoln County in 40 years. Posters for the Carpe Diem circus have begun popping up all over the county, as well as social media, announcing an upcoming show at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds just outside of Panaca. Many within the county doubted the veracity of the event until equipment began piling up just outside town, preparing for the upcoming show.
Carpe Diem describes itself as an “old-fashioned, traditional, family-operated circus” that is touring its way through the smaller communities around the west. Based out of Fallon, Nevada, the group’s last show was in Veyo, where, according to reviews, it was a great time for families.
The entertainment seems to focus on death-defying shows like the Iron Cage and other dirtbike-based stunts. There also seems to be a large amount of acrobatics, with a few comedy shows sprinkled throughout, centered around music. There’s a big focus on keeping the attractions family-friendly, and there are no animals present in the show. All the shows are done by dedicated performers who have honed their craft for years.
The show in Panaca will take place on Oct. 25 and 26 at 3 and 5:30 p.m., respectively. Tickets can be purchased through eventbrite.com, with adult tickets costing $23.99 and children’s tickets costing $17.99.
