Lady Lynx improve to 7-0

The Lincoln County High School girls basketball team continued its undefeated season with a 46-21 rout of the Pahranagat Valley Panthers (2-5) in Alamo on Tuesday, Dec. 16. The Lynx got 14 points from junior Sophie Donohue and 10 points from sophomore Emma Bleak in the win.

While Lincoln County was just six-for-14 from the free throw line, the defense was so stingy that the game was in hand by halftime. After a 12-4 first quarter, the Lynx held the Panthers to just three points in the second, rolling into halftime with a 21-7 advantage. The Lynx stretched the lead with an 18-11 third quarter and once again held the Panthers to three points in the fourth.

For Pahranagat Valley, it’s another indication of a very young roster finding itself. The Panthers have averaged just over 19 points per game thus far this season. They scored exactly 19 in their 24-point loss at White Pine on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

The Lynx have never scored less than 28, and have averaged over 43 points per game. They’ve been dominant and have gotten scoring from everyone. LCHS will kickoff its league season at Lake Mead Christian Academy (1-6) on Friday, Dec. 19 at 3:30 p.m.

The Panthers host Wells at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18 and play three games at the Beaver Dam Invitational, Dec. 19-20.
