Western Elite Christmas Express lights up Lincoln County

Western Elite’s Magical Christmas Express returned for five nights of Christmas magic this December. Each year, the Williams family and the Western Elite team transform their land south of Alamo into a full North Pole village, creating a winter wonderland unlike anything else.

Families and friends enter through a glowing pathway of giant lighted wreaths, instantly stepping into the magic. The guest experience begins at Ryan Henge, a theater-style open dome where holiday music is synchronized with surrounding lights, drawing dancers of all ages to the festive space.

Winding through the property, visitors pass vintage train stations, illuminated displays and railcars illuminated behind a towering, beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Through the entryway, attendees are treated with a greeting from the Grinch. Along the way to their train, guests walk through decorated rooms filled with Nativity scenes, Santa displays and classic holiday decor. After receiving a golden ticket, passengers wait next to a large screen that plays the classic “Polar Express” movie.

As the train comes into view, a crackling fire spouts from the top, stoked by a hobo character very similar to the one from the movie. Guests board the vintage-style train and are welcomed by the conductor and his staff. Passengers set off beneath a rustic, star-filled sky, surrounded by dazzling Christmas lights. Singing, laughter and holiday cheer fill the air as families enjoy a storybook journey complete with Whoville and “Home Alone” scenes, elves and festive displays at every turn.

The excitement builds when Santa himself appears, boarding the train with his big red bag of treats. He greets guests, hands out goodies and happily snaps photos and selfies with children and adults alike.

As the journey comes to a close, an announcer gently reminds guests, “Don’t forget the true reason for the season, the birth of our Savior.” A reverence falls over each train as viewers see a pregnant Mary on a horse and the train passes a live Nativity scene.

Unlike commercial attractions, Western Elite’s Magical Christmas Express is completely complimentary. This invite-only celebration is hosted annually as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for employees, customers, friends, veterans and first responders. The event includes hayrides, live music, dancing, real animals, photo opportunities, a complimentary dinner and steaming cups of hot cocoa. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy, which Western Elite donates to children battling life-threatening illnesses, extending the magic of the season.

The Christmas Express delivers joy, generosity and a touch of North Pole enchantment to Lincoln County. Thousands attend each year, making it one of Lincoln County’s most cherished holiday traditions.
