Plan smarter, explore farther: Nevada Division of Outdoor Recreation adds trailside services to Nevada Trail Finder

New statewide resource connects outdoor enthusiasts with nearby businesses and services.

CARSON CITY, NV – In 2021, the Nevada Division of Outdoor Recreation (NDOR) launched Nevada Trail Finder, a free, publicly accessible resource designed to provide reliable outdoor recreation information statewide. From off-roading and horseback riding to paddling and mountain biking, Nevada Trail Finder equips residents and visitors with the tools they need to plan safe, informed and memorable outdoor adventures across Nevada’s landscapes.

In January 2026, NDOR expanded this growing platform with the introduction of Trailside Services, a new feature aimed at promoting locally owned businesses and increasing awareness of services available in Nevada’s rural and remote communities. As demand for outdoor recreation continues to grow, connecting users to trusted, nearby resources is more important than ever.

Nevada is home to some of the most remote communities in the country, where access to fuel, repairs, rentals and local expertise can be difficult to find. Trailside Services help bridge that gap by allowing users to locate rental shops, mechanics, guides, outfitters and unique local experiences near their trail location. This tool encourages both locals and visitors to explore farther from home while supporting the small businesses that serve as vital lifelines to outdoor recreation.

Participation in Trailside Services is free, and businesses can add their services directly to Nevada Trail Finder, strengthening connections between recreationists and the communities that support Nevada’s outdoor economy.
