A Nevada Hunter Education Course is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at Panaca Elementary School. The course offers local residents an opportunity to complete the certification required to purchase a Nevada hunting license.
The class will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will focus on safe, ethical and responsible hunting practices. Instruction includes firearm safety, wildlife conservation principles, decision-making in the field and proper animal identification. The course is designed to ensure that new hunters understand both the responsibilities and the traditions that come with hunting in Nevada.
Nevada law requires hunter education certification for anyone born after Jan. 1, 1960, before purchasing a hunting license. Organizers say the course is a valuable resource for youth and adults alike who are preparing for upcoming hunting seasons.
All students must register online at registered.com and complete either a hunter education workbook or the approved online completion course prior to attending the in-person session. Completion of the pre-course material is required in order to participate in the Mar. 7 class.
Local organizers say they are looking forward to offering the course in Panaca and are encouraged by the interest shown within the community. With strong outdoor traditions throughout Lincoln County, many residents view the class as an important step in continuing safe and responsible hunting practices.
