Caliente 2026 Homecoming Grand Marshals Rozanne Mangum, Rosemary Davis and Millie FitzSimons.
Rosemary Davis (Rosie)
Rosemary Davis was born on August 13, 1945, in Park City, Utah. In 1947, she moved to Caliente with her parents, Frank and Margaret Dufer, along with her siblings Betty, Linda, Irene and Frank Jr. She attended Caliente Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1964.
In 1968, Rosemary married the love of her life, Chester Davis. Together, they were blessed with two handsome sons, Kenny and Shawn Davis.
Over her 80 years living in Caliente, Rosemary became a beloved figure through her remarkable volunteerism, work ethic, kindness, generosity, caring spirit and patriotism. For 50 years, she served as a trusted Avon representative, taking over from her friend Millie FitzSimons. Rosie was a working mother and devoted 18 years to babysitting children and cleaning homes while also always lending a helping hand to families and organizations throughout Caliente.
Rosemary has consistently led by example, volunteering for 50 years on the homecoming committee, visiting folks at the hospital and helping the VFW, the Olson Senior Center and the Caliente thrift store. She shows us that true strength is found not in seeking recognition, but in the everyday acts of love and generosity that have made a lasting impression on eight decades of the Caliente community. Rosemary Davis stands as a testament to the power of a life lived with purpose, integrity and love.
Rozanne Mangum (Bugs)
Rozanne Mangum was born in Caliente on August 30, 1946, to Arnelda and Oswald Viator. She has a younger sister named Marilyn. She attended Caliente grade school and, in 1964, graduated from Lincoln County High School.
Right after high school, she attended Stephen Henager’s Business College and graduated as a stenographer.
She met the love of her life, Jerry Mangum, in 1968 and married him on July 4, 1968. Jerry brought to the marriage three beautiful girls, Kim, Julie and Melanie. In 1970, they added a son, Burt, and in 1971, their daughter, Dawn.
Roz loves people! She has enjoyed working at the Knotty Pine and her parents’ place, Carl’s Burgers. When Carl’s closed in 1999, she worked for Grover C. Dils Hospital and retired after 16 years.
Rozanne has volunteered for the PTA, the chamber of commerce and the city council. For 40 years, she has helped the Homecoming Committee. She loves sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting and art. She now travels a lot with Rosie and visits her grandkids and great-grandchildren in Arizona.
Millie FitzSimons
Born in 1955 to George and Dorothy Rowe, Millie attended Caliente grade school and graduated from Lincoln County High School.
She fell in love and married a fine Irishman, Patrick FitzSimons, in 1974. They have three outstanding children, Mary, Sean and Erin.
Volunteering is at the heart of who Millie is. She has dedicated many years to leading and serving at the Caliente thrift store, founded by her mother, Dot Rowe. For many years, Millie supported Caliente’s Memorial Day celebrations through meal ticket and button sales, becoming a familiar and welcoming presence in one of the town’s most cherished traditions.
Millie is also deeply involved in Holy Child Catholic Church, the Lincoln County Chapter of RPEN, the Caliente Beautification Committee and countless other efforts. She has built a legacy of service. You can see this through her children and grandchildren. Her generosity, leadership and quiet dedication have touched countless lives and left a lasting mark on her beloved community.
Best of Friends
Rozanne and Rosemary Davis have been best friends for 77 years, since they were three and four years old and met in a mud puddle.
These three longtime friends, Rosie, Roz and Millie, have volunteered and blessed so many organizations, families and churches. They even played softball together in the 80s. These outstanding community matriarchs are the finest examples of Christian love, true friendship, village mothers and friends to all who know them.
They are the best of hometown spirit. This is who your 2026 grand marshals are!
