Students from Pahranagat Valley Elementary recently enjoyed an end-of-year field trip to the Mesquite, Nevada, Recreation Center, where they spent the day swimming, playing games and celebrating the close of the school year.
After traveling by bus from Alamo to Mesquite, students were welcomed by a head lifeguard, who reviewed pool safety rules and behavior expectations before the group entered the water.
Students spent the afternoon enjoying the outdoor pool area, which included a waterslide, diving board and basketball hoops. Students lounged on chairs, sat in the grass and spent several hours keeping cool in the late-spring heat.
“The water was perfect, and it was a really good day,” one student shared while describing the activities.
The students enjoyed lunch at the recreation center before packing up their belongings and boarding the bus for the trip back to Alamo. Once they returned to campus, students had time for recess before wrapping up the school day and heading home.
The outing gave students an opportunity to relax, spend time with classmates and celebrate the approaching end of another successful school year. The annual outing is a much-anticipated event. For the sixth graders, it was the end of an era as the students’ last elementary field trip.
