Lincoln County first responders handle medical calls, arrests and investigations

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 96 calls for service throughout Lincoln County between June 1 and June 7, with several incidents resulting in arrests, investigations and emergency response assistance.

Among the more notable calls during the week were a threatening incident in Caliente that is being submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for charges, a burglary investigation in Caliente that led to one arrest and a disorderly call in Alamo where one individual was arrested for disorderly conduct, trespassing and resisting a public officer.

Deputies also responded to a single-vehicle rollover north of Pioche, where one individual was transported to the hospital for treatment. In addition, the sheriff’s office is investigating a criminal mischief and property damage case involving damages reported at the Pioche Park.

The Pahranagat Valley Volunteer Fire District remained active throughout the week, responding to five calls, including four medical emergencies and one accident-related call, in the Alamo area and surrounding portions of Lincoln County.

Several of the medical calls required emergency evaluation and treatment on scene, with two patients later transported for additional medical care and advanced transport services. One of the more serious incidents involved an individual who became unresponsive while working near Alamo, prompting responders to request advanced medical transport resources before the patient was transferred to a higher-level medical facility.

Firefighters and emergency personnel also responded to a reported vehicle and trailer accident on State Route 318 after reports indicated the vehicle had left the roadway. Upon arrival, crews determined there had been no collision or injuries requiring transport. They then assisted in safely returning the vehicle to the roadway.

Additional medical calls during the week were resolved on scene without ambulance transport. During one incident, firefighters and law enforcement personnel evaluated an individual who was later turned over to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation
