The Caliente Volunteer Fire Department is inviting residents and visitors to gather on July 4 for a full day of patriotic activities as the community celebrates Independence Day and America’s 250th birthday.

This year’s celebration carries special significance as communities across the nation commemorate the Semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

The day begins early with the annual Dynamite Breakfast at Rose Park at 6 a.m., a longstanding tradition that brings friends, families and visitors together before the festivities get underway.

At 11 a.m., community members will line the streets of downtown Caliente for the Patriotic Parade. Local organizations, businesses, first responders and community groups are expected to participate as residents gather to celebrate the holiday and show their community spirit.

Following the parade, activities move to Dixon Park, where children can enjoy games and family-friendly activities throughout the afternoon. The park has long served as the centerpiece of Caliente’s Independence Day celebration, providing a place for families to gather and enjoy the holiday together.

The celebration concludes with the annual fireworks display beginning at 9 p.m. The show is expected to draw spectators from across Lincoln County and neighboring communities as fireworks light up the night sky in honor of the nation’s birthday.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs and spend the day with family and friends. All are invited to join in celebrating both the nation’s history and the strong sense of community that has made Caliente’s Fourth of July celebration a local tradition for generations.
