After years of planning and searching for the right location, the Lincoln County Library System will celebrate the grand opening of its newest branch in Panaca on Wednesday, July 22.
The new branch will be located in Room 107 of the Panaca Town Center. A grand opening celebration will begin at 11 a.m., with the branch remaining open until 4 p.m. that day. Visitors should use the back entrance near the LDS church lawn to access the library.

According to Library Director Sharron Faehling, bringing a library branch to Panaca has been a long-term goal of the Lincoln County Library Board. For several years, the board searched for a suitable location before space became available at the Panaca Town Center. Faehling said she hopes the new branch will provide both helpful resources and a welcoming place for the Panaca community.
The branch will open with limited services while internet service and public computers are being installed. Regular operating hours have not yet been established and will be announced during the grand opening.
Visitors attending the grand opening will also have an opportunity to help shape the library’s future collection. Community members will be invited to submit requests for their favorite authors, book series and genres, giving library staff valuable input as they continue building the Panaca branch’s collection.
“We want this library to be shaped by the residents who will be using it,” Faehling said. “This library should feel like it belongs to the readers of Panaca.”
Everyone who attends the grand opening may also enter a small raffle, with winners to be drawn at the end of the day.
Faehling expressed appreciation to everyone who helped make the new branch possible, including the Lincoln County Commissioners, Cory Lytle, Melissa Free, the Lincoln County Library Board, the Panaca Town Board and the many community members who supported the effort.
