Sean FitzSimons named NIAA interim Executive Director

Former Lincoln County High School athletic director and boys basketball coach Sean FitzSimons has been appointed interim Executive Director of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association, effective Aug. 1, 2026.

FitzSimons formerly served as an Assistant Director of the association, overseeing coaches’ education, compliance and postseason events.

“I’m looking forward to keeping the organization moving in a positive direction,” FitzSimons said. “I appreciate the trust the Board of Control has put in our staff.”

Timothy Jackson, who in 2024 became the association’s sixth Executive Director, resigned at the end of July. FitzSimons will serve as interim Executive Director while the NIAA searches for a full-time leader.
